Ah, yes, but if it was someone else under the influence of Polyjuice 
potion or if he seriously injured but didn't actually kill them, he 
would SAY he'd killed them. My point is that all our witnesses to 
that event are imperfect. They are making assumptions that might not 
turn out the be correct. The only objective witness is the wand under 
Priori Incantatem.

There are plenty of mysteries about it that aren't just our 
nitpicking reaedings of the books, but are things deliberately left 
vague by JKR. I'm sure that when we get to the end of book 7, we'll 
be delighted and surprised at all the places we've been to and the 
answers we've discovered.
