I'm new to the list, and actually pretty new to the HP 
books (halfway through the 4th one now).  I just wanted 
to comment on this one...the star Sirius is also 
referred to as the "dog star".  I didn't make the 
connection myself at first, but I wasn't that surprised 
to find out he was Padfoot.
