"Maybe in the brief period in GoF when Ron and Harry aren't speaking,
Harry mostly does what Hermione wants to do. Examples are practicing
charms, going to walk around the lake. But then again, they do go to
Hogsmead using the invisibility cloak at Harry's insistence, and Harry
refuses to skip the meeting with Hagrid in favor of his meeting with
Sirius.

But I'm not sure that when the trio is together (or when Ron and
Harry are alone) that they do what Harry wants to do. It seems quite
clear that they don't do what Hermione wants to do. It can be argued
that they do what *Ron* wants to do."

Maybe Harry doesn't really care what they do together and leaves the
decision making to the other two. Maybe whatever they choose to do
together is good enough for Harry because he's never had friends
before?

"Exactly. We do know that Viktor has quite strong feelings about
Hermione, and we can surmise that the strength of his interest in her
makes her uncomfortable. But, if *5* months after the Yule Ball,
Hermione is still talking about Harry all the time when she's around
Krum, it seems there's some substance to Krum's jealous feelings. If
she were talking about Harry *and Ron* all the time, I don't imagine
it would inspire the same sort of reaction from Krum. He'd be inclined
in that case to dismiss it as both boys just being her friends. But,
she apparently doesn't have much or anything to say about Ron, judging
from Krum's reaction."

Hermione is 14 during GoF and an older boy is clearly smitten with
her. Maybe as you pointed out, Hermione is uncomfortable with some
aspects of her relationship with Krum. Since we aren't privy to their
conversations we really don't know if Krum throughout those 5 months
has been trying to score with Hermione. Perhaps Hermione's strategy to
cool Krum's amorous advances is to talk about another boy (even in
real life, that's one way to put a damper on things). If so, Ron would
be the wrong one to talk about because he is "normal". Celebrity-wise,
Krum is Harry's peer; Ron isn't. Krum would be more threatened by
Harry.

Imagine for a minute. Krum and Hermione walking out of the library.
Krum feels a bit amorous and spies an empty classroom. He asks
Hermione "what's in that room?". Hermione feeling a bit uneasy tells
him "Oh that? Just an empty classroom. Harry and I practiced the accio
charm in there. See that room down the corridor? Well, in our second
year, we were in dueling club. Anyhow, Harry was dueling Draco Malfoy
and suddenly Malfoy conjured a snake. Well, the snake was about to
attack Justin and Harry told snake to stop. He's a parseltongue you
know
