Aha! See, neverminding any interpretation I make of the Trio's
interrelationship, this is exactly what I interpret in terms of
Hermione's relationship with Krum ~ that he's interested in dating
her, she's not interested in dating him but finds no reason to be
outright rude...though his attention is a bit awkward at times. In
this light, I'd say that she *would* probably stick to neutral common
interests, the Triwizard Tourney and thereby Harry (and not Ron)
coming to mind more often.

Also, I think it is within the realm of possibility that Hermione
*doesn't* talk about Harry particularly often. However, Krum,
influenced like so many others by Rita Skeeter's misrepresentation of
Harry & Hermy's relationship, might be super-sensitive to any time
Harry does come up in conversation (even, probably, if it was he that
brought Harry up in said conversation). In other words, Hermy might
talk of Ron and Harry equally, or of Ron a lot and Harry in passing,
or heck she might gabble on about Crookshanks non-stop and mention
Harry only because he's occasionally in the same room as Crookshanks;
but Krum would pick up on the times Harry comes up because he's
predisposed to consider Harry as competition.

I dunno. How good a source of info is a jealous young man, as by
definition jealousy often comes from misinterpretation of
events/conversation, paranoia, and other kinds of reality-twisting
extrapolations?

And where, by the way, *was* I going with this post?

wandering off to track down her point....
