But, there's no indication that Viktor ever even READ Skeeter's
articles, let alone believed them. For one thing, he didn't strike me
as the kind of guy who would try to steal a girl away from her
boyfriend, and had he read (and believed) Skeeter's articles, he'd
have thought Harry was her boyfriend. Also, being Bulgarian, it's
likely that he wouldn't have a subscription to an ENGLISH newspaper,
and I'm not at all convinced that a gossip column would be translated
into other languages. Also, even if he had read those articles, I
tend to think that he'd believe Hermione when she told him that
Skeeter is full of crap & makes up her stories.
