I regret to note that the exact quote is "Once the remaining Weaseleys and
Hermione had joined them, Harry and Ron led the way to the end of the train,
past packed compartments, to a carriage that looked quite empty. They loaded
the trunks onto it, stowed Hedwig and Crookshanks in the luggage rack, then
went back outside to say good-bye to Mr. and Mrs. Weasley."
Then Mr. W called HP aside, etc., etc., etc.
As to the invisibility cloaks, in as much Lupin probably knew of James'
cloak, he still would be as closed mouth about his own, if he had one, as
Harry was. Aside from Dumbledore, HG and RW, Harry told no one, but of
course Hagrid knew since one or more of the three visited his digs a number
of times.
As Hermione says - "Sorry!"
