That's interesting. I like your list, but I would definitely add

I really did contemplate putting Dumbledore on the list, but I just
can't put my figure on why I denied him access. Personally,
Dumbledore's never been one of my top characters, but that's just a
personal preference. If we had to include Dumbledore, who would get
knocked off, then? Possibly Hagrid, since Dumbledore tends to
function many of the similar roles as Hagrid, but I do see Hagrid as
more of a friend, while Dumbledore fills those "mentoring" shoes.
Hermione & Ron could/should be lumped, since their influences are
quite similar and both fall under "friendly guidance", but I've always
seen Ron filling that "bosum-buddy" (what do you call them for boys?)
role, while Hermione is the
practical-friend-who-keeps-everyone's-heads-screwed-on-straight. No,
let's please not start a "Hermione isn't JUST that" rant, because
that's not what I am saying. For these purposes, I judge her role in
Harry's life to lean MORE towards guidance, with a healthy mixture of
sheer friendship thrown in.
But I detract. If we include Dumbledore, who goes? I personally
really like the Dursleys for this list, because you've got to
acknowledge they've definitely played a major role in his life for ten
years.
