Hear, hear! I've had a theory ever since one late late night at Steak and
Shake (local college-town all-night diners: where the real
earth-shattering conspiracies begin).  What evidence do we have that
Petunia isn't a squib?? Petunia says that her mother and father were
"so proud" of Lily, but that she considers Lily a freak.  It's entirely
possible, I think, that Lily could have had at least one wizard for a
parent.

And since I'm on the subject of my theories I'm going to venture a
question that's been bugging me since my first read of Book IV. I always
have wondered why, if the wand chooses the wizard, the wand containing the
feather of the noble and pure Fawkes chose Tom Riddle?  That truly baffles
me. After reading the wand dueling scene in GOF, I thought it possible
that Voldemort had used someone else's wand to kill Lily and James, and
had been hanging onto it ever since. After all, Harry *did* hold on for a
good deal after his parents' shades emerged, but no one else came out. 
What if Voldemort used someone else's wand, someone else who also has a
special connection to Harry, to perform his parent's murder?

Thoughts on this? I'm anxious.
