Welcome Aja!
   Just as Dumbledore could use his powers for evil if he chose, 
so a phoenix feather can be used to do evil. If wand cores 
influenced character, Ollivander would surely not  use the 
heartstrings of violent and bloodthirsty dragons.
   It is a bit odd that no further shades came from Voldemort's 
wand. Dumbledore does remark that if the connnection had 
lasted longer there would have been more.  I am all for finding 
clues and speculation, but I am afraid that this is probably just 
some more of JKR's notorious inattention to mathematical 
detail.   If such things make you anxious I'm afraid you are in for a 
hard time.
