I agree with the snipped substance of Jenny's post (though mostly I
like Hagrid). Just a couple of nitpicks. At first it's the trio who
volunteered to help with Buckbeak. Later, I feel that he brought
Harry and Ron back into it because Hermione was taking all the strain
herself. He didn't ask for their support for himself.

Well, that's what Dumbledore and Hermione seem to think.

That might not be total disaster, if they are peaceful and understand
that Voldemort is a Bad Thing.
He might also be tempted to find a job in France. Perhaps Fleur will
be Groundsman at Hogwarts in OOP? It could totally revise Ron's
attitude to Forbidden Forest detentions.
