I _hope_ he will.  I'm not placing any bets, though.  (I'm just

I think the power trip of being Head Boy would suit him well (better 
than Percy, even).  A number of the Slytherins aren't showing their 
supposed ambition; Draco, on the other hand, pursues it eagerly 
enough.

Lucius is complaining about Draco's grades at the beginning of CoS, 
but the problem does not appear to be so much the level of the grades 
themselves, as the fact that Draco was bested by a girl and a 
Mudblood (our own dear Hermione).  Moreover, Draco's reaction 
suggests to me that he's upset about being bested, so he probably 
does care a fair bit about his academics.

(Hadn't caught this before, but Lucius's comments imply that Hermione 
beat Malfoy on _Snape's_ exam, as well as all the others.  Wonder how 
Snape felt about that . . .)
