All right now, as founder of D.E.P.R.E.C.I.A.T.I.O.N. (since I asked
for the name), I'm deeply injured by the oppositions clearly size-ist
attitude. Just to PROVE that we are indeed a bigger group, I've done
a search for all the people I think should be in our little group
(hey, I'm at work and have to LOOK productive-no one can actually SEE
what I'm doing on my computer, I just look busy and deeply absorbed).
Here is the list of people who are getting their virtual badges, based
on their previous posts: Mary Ann, Cheryl, Red Queen, Amanda,
Catherine, Alexandra, Shanna, Milz and Kelley. The following people
have not actually joined our theroy but are under active recruitment:
Ethanol, Gwendolyn Grace, Tabouli and Suzanne. Come on guys, you KNOW
you want one of our cool badges!
If you look at the list, you can clearly see we are indeed quite a
group so naaaaaaaaaaa.

I don't recall that memory charms HAVE to broken with torture. We've
only heard about LV doing so, and I sincerely doubt he'd do things a
nicer way if there is one, which I believe there must be. I can't
imagine them with a charm that doesn't have a counter
charm-even if a lot of people don't know about it (except of course
for the forbidden curses)

My theory is that there must be different strenghts of memory charms
(doesn't someone in GoF say they give Mr. Roberts 'mild' memory
charms?). We see Mr. Roberts clearly confused after so many memory
charms ("Merry Christmas"), but sadly we don't see enough of him
afterwards to know the lasting effects.
Somewhere in GoF, Bertha is discussed as not always being forgetful (I
think by Arthur), just a busybody (I believe) this is shown somewhere
else (sorry I don't have my books) as being a sign of a memory charm.
Lockhart's case is different I think because the curse backfired on
him through Ron's faulty wand. He seems to have completely forgotten
everything, including his name and that he even IS a wizard.
Okay, as it is quitting time (tee hee managed to LOOK extremely busy
for a good half hour!), I'll close this post and go home. And I say
to all my fellow or interested D.E.P.R.E.C.I.A.T.I.O.N. members to
stand up and be counted! Show your support for Neville and his poor
memory! Wear your badge with pride!
Slon-prepared to defend Neville to the end (or until JK proves us all
wrong)
