Hi everyone,
I'm developing a theory....go with me on this (or don't)...
What if the person (not the name), Dumbledore, is much older than 150
years old? What if Dumbledore is Flamel?
Here are some reason why this could be true:
(1)Dumbledore is the only person who has spoken to flamel.
(2)Dumbledore loves Chamber music, and Flamel loves opera music.
(3)They both have worked in Alchemy, and they were partners.
(4)Supposedly Flamel lives with his wife in Devon. We have no idea where
D stays at
Hogwarts.
(5)Flamel is 665 years old, and would know much about ancient magic.
Strange how Dumbledore uses ancient magic to protect Harry while he's in
relations' care.
6) By destroying the stone, Nicholas Flamel would die. In Book 4, it is
often stated how
old and tired D looks.
Perhaps at some point, "Dumbledore" came around, and Nicholas retired
and became an
entry in books.
The things that work against the theory are:
(1) Because he was much younger when Hagrid was at Hogwarts (though we
don't know how a 600+ year old person would age)
(2) He supposedly has a brother (though we don't know if he is still
alive or not)
(3) We actually don't know where any of the teachers stay (so this
doesn't dismiss the theory)
The lexicon says that Dumbledore went to Hogwarts in 1851, and that he
was a Gryffindor. How do we know this? Is it in the books, or did it
come from a interview?
I'm also wondering if *something* like this is true. Rowling is creative
and we tend to look at the obvious (like the Bagman, Karkaroff being the
inside), and not read between the lines (Moody knows exactly how Harry's
name was entered...should have tipped us off), so I'm trying to read
between the lines. Maybe I'm doing a good job...maybe I'm not!
You thoughts?
