Snape and Longbottom's Mother

After reading all the L.o.l.l.i.p.o.p.s and various Snape related
posts, an idea struck me. Rather unoriginal, but considering that the
most common argument for Snape's bad attitude ( When compounded with
other things of course) towards Harry is that he (Snape) had torch
for Lily.
If this was the case, wouldn't it be more reasonable, considering
the amount of abuse Neville gets, that Snape might have been in love
with Longbottom's mother ( or father for that matter...). Just as
Harry is a reminder of James, couldn't Neville be a reminder of his
own father who got him and his wife a permanent suite at Le Chateau
Mungo's. To add insult to injury, Neville is a failure at potions.
This creates another bitter memory for what could've been in Snape's
mind.
The whole theory is overly romantic and dramatic (The whole DE
and Auror/star-crossed lovers bit can come into play), but at least
Snape tries to help Harry, he terrorizes Neville.
  Just a thought.
Does this theory deserve and ancronym????

To everyone who replied to my Invisibility cloak post:
Nothing gets past you guys. I should try to re-read the whole set
before I post anything involving absolute canon. I was too busy to
reply with my thanks for the straight facts( school and all) so i say
Thanks to everyone and I hope everyone has a great New Year.
