James Potter's Family?

Does anyone, besides Harry, still exist in James Potter's family? I 
have to suppose not, or else Dumbledore would have placed Harry in 
their care rather than with the Durselys.

I am curious about James' parents and the rest of his family and 
wonder why none of them are present or have ever been discussed.

My apologies if this has already been asked and answered; I am brand-
new to this group and am quite delighted to have found it.
