Symbols next to names on list

Well, I haven't seen the special, so this is just musing, but didn't 
she mention she wrote down affiliation and magical power? Thus, "N" 
might stand for natural talent, perhaps the star with the circle 
means a balance of talent and book learning, and the star means the 
student really has to struggle.
On the other hand, the symbol might be affiliation of either the 
student or parents. If it's for parents, the "N" might stand for No 
Affiliation, i.e. muggle-born. The star with the circle would perhaps 
mean one or more parent was a DE (notice in GF we only see one Crabbe 
and one Goyle; with couples like the Lestranges we would hear about 
both if they were in the inner circle), and the star would mean 
goodishness. Still, I can hardly imagine Seamus's or Lavender's parent
(s) being a Voldy. Oh well, looks like we'll have another few years 
to truly find out.
