Symbols next to names on list

Once I read a post a few up that said that JKR still uses the list to 
say what affiliations everyone will end up with, I postulate, along 
with Rycar that these might (although, I have not seen the special 
either) that these point out who ends up as what.  N could mean 
neutral.  Perhaps these people are not affected by the choosing of 
sides (though, I wonder about Hermione having an N.)  But I actually 
could see Crabbe and Goyle obviously on the DE side.  Not only that, 
but remember how the Sorting Hat took forever to decide where to put 
Seamus?  Makes me wonder.  Perhaps he has more in him than we know.  
And Lavander is quite a follower, and (sorry to those who like her) 
but I could see her following right off the deep end.  :)

Still this is just a guess.  I guess once we all finish the 7th book, 
the symbols will make perfect sense in 20/20 hindsight.
