I'm not sure that Voldemort's loss of power needs to be attributed to 
some special power Harry has (although I do think that Harry *is* 
"powerfully magic"). We know that Lily's sacrifice was what saved 
Harry's life. So what happened was that some mysterious magic that 
her sacrifice generated deflected the curse Voldemort directed at 
Harry. The simplest theory then would be that the curse rebounded on 
(to?) Voldemort. He would have died of his own curse if it wasn't for 
his immortality spells. Instead he was reduced to living death.
