ADMIN: Suggestions (& actions) to decrease list volume

Ok, please forgive me, I'm quite new to the HP discussions.  I've 
figured out what shipping is (after some very confusing to a newbie 
posts) but when you say "evidence in canon" what do you mean?  The 
actual series of books? (rather than FF? or speculation?)  I feel 
like I'm missing something here ...
