Well, here goes.

You know how the DE's have the marks on their arms
that let them know who
You-Know-who is near by? Do you think that it is
possible that witches and
wizards that are close to one another have that same
capacity? To know
instinctively when something is wrong? That kind of
psycic link to one
another?

On another hand, going on the assumtption that Voldy
was atttacking a lot of
people, and assuming that James and Lilly were among
the stronger of those
that were fighting him, do you think it possible that
Sirius, being their
best friend, knew 'instinctively' that something was
going on, and warned
Dumbledore? Warned him that things were shaky, and he
should probably do
something ASAP?

Or maybe they had a clock, like the weasleys have?
Maybe Dumbledore has one
with all his close friends on it, so that would have
told him that James and
Lilly were dead. Hence he could have assumed straight
away that Harry was in
danger, and sent Hagrid to fetch him.

OTOH Dumbledore is a strong enough wizard to be able
to feel the power of
what happen when Harry was attacked by You-know-who
and retalliated. It had
to have been a huge thing, and we all know that it
was!

As to the timetable.......... Well, the wizards
couldnt really leave Harry
on the doorstep during the day time, with the
Dursleys and their neighbours
around. They had to wait for nightfall for cover. But
who is to know what
Hagrid did with Harry during those hours. Maybe he
took Harry as far away
from the scene as possible, and recouperated for a
while (cause we all know
how affectionate Hagrid can be; he might have sat
there cooing over Harry
for a while). But for some reason i dont think that is
feasible
either.........

Or maybe they used this time to discuss what was to be
done with Harry? *I
think i have sussed it blokes!!!* What if all
that time was spent in deep
discussion and action about what was to be done with
the boy. It couldnt
have been an easy decision to decide to leave this
amazing child who just
defeated an ultimately powerful dark wizard with
Muggles who knew nothing
about magic. Sirius cant have been involved as he was
chasing after
Pettigrew at the time. But a bunch of
people......perhaps the 'old crowd'
were organising the spells to put in place at Privet
drive, and ways in
which they could protect Harry through the ten years
he had to wait until he
could be safe at Hogwarts. Hagrid could have either
taken Harry to these
discussions, or been instructed to take him somwhere
safe and quiet to wait
instructions. Then they could have told him to meet
them at Privet drive at
the appropriate time, allowing for the three people
present to arrive at
different times. McGonagall to unknowingly suss out
the street ( ie in PS
"And i dont suppose youre going to tell me why
here, of all
places?..............you cant find two people who are
less like us." Hagrid
to bring Harry, and DUmbledore to oversee.

What do we think about that???

Danika Longbottom.
I think you are probably right about the 'Old
Crowd'theory. They would have to put down some
protection for him. Sofie
