He seems to be a Death Eater because he couldn't quite

work out how to be anything else. > > >

Maybe he was always treated like a younger brother who
was never expected to be the leader or the bravest or
the smartest and this eventually gnawed at him.

I feel very sorry for him. He's a sad little man.
I agree with all of the points above whole heartedly.
They Probably treated Peter as everyone treats
Neville.Harry stuck up for Neville and got his
remembrall back, and this is how they became
friends.Could this be how it was for James and Peter?
Oh sure, Neville is their friend, but do they really
miss him when he's not around? He did not feel
important enough to his friends. This nurtured his
feelings of inadequacy. IF they condescended to him
the way that people do to Neville, I can see him
feeling like a total outsider even amongst his
friends.I think this is how Peter was enticed to the
dark side.He went over to the dark side because he
felt that he would be given the power to shine, and
maybe even be appreciated. He was tired of standing in
the shadows of James,Sirius and Lupin. Perhaps he was
even jealous of their closeness. He wanted to be
admired and looked up to, instead he ended up more
miserable than ever, with no way out. I think that
everytime he looks at Harry he feels the impact of
what he did. I think this will work on his conscience
until he can no longer stand it.I feel that this is
how he will eventually redeem himself.
