I have been musing about the Godric's Hollow events, and thought of
something else:
James and Lily are in hiding, and they are in Godric's Hollow. We
know that whoever is looking for them can only find them if the
secret keeper tells them where they are. How does this work? Does
it mean that Voldemort could know where they live, but not be able to
find them there, or does it mean that for it to be kept a secret, he
can't have known that they were there in the first place?Does that
mean that if Voldemort actually went into their house, he still
wouldn't see them?
Wondering about this has brought me to the conclusion that the
Potters did not live in Godric's Hollow prior to Pettigrew being made
secret keeper, as Voldemort would probably have known where they
were, even if he couldn't find them there (if you see what I mean).
All along, I have been assuming that this is where they lived, and
making the connection between Gryffindor and Godric's Hollow. I am
now wondering whether someone else lent them the house to hide in -
Dumbledore, for instance.
