Speaking of Snape, I wonder why he didn't know anything about Peter
being the spy? If Peter had been passing informations for one entire
year, it seems quite impossible that he and Severus have never met in

Yes, that was exactly my point! The situation before Voldemort's
downfall was a bit Far West- Aurors given the permission to put the
unforgivable curses on every suspect. Not very safe for Peter.
Certainly, he wouldn't have lived up to his dreams of being a hero,
staying at Hogwarts and doing nothing, but *that* sacrifice doesn't
seem too big to me, you could ask it from everybody, not just from
the ideal hero.
