Someone who's familiar with the British public school system might
post the definitions of a prefect and a head boy/girl. I'm not too
clear on the difference between them.
Either way, I don't think that Harry would be up for prefect. From
the limited info available in the books, there seems to be a fair
amount of responsibility involved especially regarding the first
years. Perhaps a prefect is a sort of institutional assigned "big
brother" who looks out for little ones.
Percy is a perfect prefect because he's such a mother hen anyway. He
gets it from Molly, I think. And, FWIW, that quality is what would
prevent him from ever going over to the Dark Side knowingly: Percy
could never hurt another person except possibly in the ultimate act
of self defense. In fact, if someone is going to die in future
books, I bet it's Percy.
