very interesting question...when I read book 4 I imagined the 
"echoes" saying stuff which "pressed his buttons".  It might be a 
stupid theory but I imagined that while dead, the victems - 
especially Harry's parents - were able to find Voldemorts 
weakenesses...and I don't mean physical...even the strongest of 
people have psycological weaknesses.  I can't right now imagine what 
these might be...however they might appear in upcoming books.  Maybe 
his weakness was his Tom Riddle days in the orphanage, but whatever 
they may have been, i believe his victems found out.
