I don't have the book handy but didn't Hermione check a book of 20th
century registrants?  If he's 150 years old, he's a 19th century
wizard.  

Grasping at straws, I know, but that's a bright 7 year old.  She
should receive notebooks and pencils for her birthday so she can
become a novelist.
