Hi all, and now I march will ill-advised confidence towards my second
post.

Hallelujah, thank you Koinonia for pointing out something that has
been bothering me ever since I read PoA and ever since I found out
about the collective Sirius adoration doing the rounds. Not that I
have anything against Sirius fans, and we all know some of the best
HP fanfics are Sirius-centered, but I just can't stand this
whole "I'm better looking than you, I'm more popular than you, I'm
better than you" mentality that seems to emanate whenever the actions
of Mr.Black are discussed. Sirius sends Severus to either death or
permanent hell and all is forgiven, but Snape (stil believing that
Sirius is guilty) attempts to do the same thing and he's pillored.
Over-reacting? Come on! Haven't you read/seen "Carrie"?

I'm really fond of Lupin, he's one of the few sweet people who
doesn't get on my nerves. I also hope he finds someone who is willing
to look after him. Preferrably someone with a very resistant cage to
be used once a month.
As for the one to snuff it, here go my two knuts on the matter:
Harry - I believe Harry will make it to the end. On the other hand,
it would be somewhat hilarious to think, in a perverse way, that
somewhere JK is sitting at her computer writing the end line to
HP7 "and so Harry died, clutching at his scar." and chuckling away at
our expense.
One of the Weasleys - My favourite Weasley is Percy (I tend to go for
unpopular characters, don't I?), but there are disturbing signs that
he may be hiding something evil... so if one of the Weasleys is
doomed, it may be him. Then again it may not.
Voldemort - He's going to snuff it by the end of the series. Why? Not
because he's the bad guy, but because he's so evil that to redeem him
would mean turning him into Maria Von Trapp. And then there would be
a collective puking over book seven all around the world.
Hermione - JK said Hermione is a caricature of herself when she was
younger. The Harry Potter novels have a variety of themes, but I
don't think literary suicide is one of them.
Dumbledore - He's the most likely to die, if only by the laws of
nature. JK does a lot of mythology, and one of the crucial aspects of
myth is the loss of the mentor in the coming of age.
Sirius - Maybe. Then again I see no logical reason why. Then again
there was no logical reason for Cedric to die at the end of GoF, was
there?
Snape - (Please God, no!) Double agents usually have sticky ends. But
Snape strikes me as basically being one of those people Who Get
Throught it All with a Cynical Comment. Source: every first-person
hard-boiled spy/crime novel in the entire world.
Lupin: I hope not. But lycanthropy has no cure now, has it?
Draco Malfoy: Nah, he has too much of a duty to piss off Harry to be
disposable. His father, on the other hand, has a Damocles' sword
hanging over him as we speak...
Colin: JK said the next person to die would be a special fan of
Harry's. According to one possible interpretation this could
mean "move over Creevey, you're dead meat". Or poor Ginny could go
out with a bang. Literally.
Oh, and have I mentioned I'm fond of black humour?
Sarcastically yours,
