Why did we start reading the books?

I heard about the books shortly after PoA came out. I never thought 
much about them, but kept reading how terrific they were. So I decided 
to see what the fuss was about. All the copies were checked out of my 
public library system and the waiting list was about 2-3 months long. 
I purchased SS/PS one morning, read the first chapter, then bought the 
remaining books that afternoon.

Milz (who's always had a weakness for well written books, even if they 
are in the "children's section")
