I was on another list with Heidi Tandy, who couldn't
stop raving about the books, I think it was after CoS.
Another guy on the list also loved them. So when GoF
arrived, along with the media hoopla, I thought it was
high time I tried HP out. I bought PS, and with one
thing and another, didn't actually start reading it
until 2 weeks later. Once I started, I could not stop.
I *loved* the magical world I was being transported
to, from the transfiguring cat to Albus Dumbledore, to
that great hairy giant delivering a baby by flying
motorcycle.

I restrained myself to buying the next books every two
weeks, so that I would have time to read each one
twice and not OD. I wanted to be able to savour each
book before the next. I recall reading PoA in one
night. :-)

I heard about this group from Heidi before I read GoF,
and I didn't join until after I'd read it all the
books about five times.
