I owe this, as many other good things of my life, to my mother: She
gave me PS as an Easter present this year (the German version,
though). My best friend, without knowing about this, gave me PoA,
also in German. I wasn't very interested, put them in my suitcase and
went back to Italy. One Sunday morning I got a really bad conscience
because I hadn't yet read those books two beloved persons had given
me and said to myself: well, it's raining anyway, let's get through
with it, at least you'll have a clean conscience, even if you'll be
bored to death.
I read PS in three hours, reluctantly went to meet a friend, hurried
home and finished PoA. I didn't sleep too well that night, cursing
Italy where all non-food shops are closed on Monday morning, but at
3p.m. I ran to Mondadori who luckily had book 1-4 in English.
And I read happily ever after.
