No, no, you're absolutely right. But the whole thing
started because of JKR's hinting at a person that
would be able to do magic late in life, and in
desperate situations. so everybody agreed it had to be
someone known as Muggle and we don't have that many
Muggles available. Therefore, many of us thought it
might be Petunia- being the sister of a witch etc.-
and that it wasn't Harry but she who had blown up
Marge. I personally disagree, though.

<remember when in the first book Voldemort/Quirrell
<drank unicorn blood to stay alive? Does anyone else 
<think that even though he has taken the second potion
<in GOF, that the drinking of unicorn blood will mean
<that no matter what he does that he will have only a
<half life? That the killing of the ultimate innocent,
<will mean that he will NEVER be immortal. The he will
<never win?
<I would really love to know what it was they said. I
<agree that it might have been stuff to do with death,
<and reminding him that he will always be mortal. And
<that one day he WILL die. Because those echoes were
<there and all they wanted was for Harry to win. They
<had been killed by Voldemort and so wanted more than
<anything to see him defeated. Hence I think they
<would say whatever they could to place doubt in his
<head.It would have been clever tho. You couldn't
<really say to Voldemort, who reigned with fear for 12
<years (was it?), ; You killed us, so we're gunna <BR>
<make sure Harry kills you!;, or ;Gee, you're REALLY
<scary!;.
<Maybe they reminded him of his Muggle background.
<Reminded him that no matter how much he denied it, he
<would always be a Muggle. Immortality, nor killing,
<nor blood, nor potion could EVER, ever cleanse him
<from THAT.

Yep, I hope it would, but then you're a normal human
being and not some raving mad, just-resurrected, evil
dark wizard. But I think you're right about what might
frighten or at least puzzle old voldie most: That, for
some reason, he might not achieve his ultimate goal,
immortality. Maybe he has made some other
miscalculation: Perhaps by recreating himself a new
body of mortal stuff like blood, flesh and bone, he
has put himself a serious obstacle in his way towards
immortality. And I like your idea about the unicorn
blood!



<*on the topic of the Muggle who has dormant powers

Oh no, it is clear that Voldemort's father is dead,
remember the beginning of GoF? All three Riddles,
parents and grwon-up son, are found dead. And V.
himself tells Harry that he killed him. Don't think
there is a way of explaining that away.
