I totally missed the whole Harry Potter revolution until earlier last year, when some friends with older children mentioned it to me.

I noticed PS in the bookshop, and bought a copy, supposedly for my daughter. The next day I was due to fly to Tasmania to run an afternoon singing workshop, and then fly home the next morning. It's a one hour flight, a changeover in Melbourne, then a one and a half hour flight to Tasmania.

After I was all packed, I decided just to read the first couple of pages before going to sleep. Two hours later I turned off my light as I just couldn't keep my eyes open any longer.

I read it on the plane to Melbourne, where I had a one hour wait for my next flight. I finished PS just before landing, so when I arrived, I headed straight into the book shop and bought CoS (at about twice the price of bookshops!). I read it until my flight changed, and on the way to Tasmania. I read another hour that night (after teaching for 6 hours!), and then finished it on the flight back to Melbourne, which was disappointing!

So, I headed back into the airport bookshop and bought PoA, again at a ridiculous price. I had a two hour delay, so I read it in the airport and then on the flight home. After I was all unpacked and in bed, I thought 'I'll just read a couple of pages'. Another hour or so later I finished it.

The next morning I went straight out and bought GoF, which hadn't been out all that long. I finished it the following afternoon. I read the whole series between Friday evening and Wednesday afternoon... and then returned to the bookshop to find out when the next one was out!

It has been a loooooong wait! But in the meantime, I've read them twice more...
