Mine isn't particularly cool - it was just SO long ago...
Back in the early fall of 1998 - October, actually - my husband & I
read an article in the NY Times about the books, which had taken the
UK by storm, and we went right out and bought a copy of SS. We both
read it more or less simultaneously, then ordered CoS from
amazon.co.uk immediately. And read it immediately.
I remember waiting desparately for PoA to be released, because I was
nine months pregnant at the time, with a delivery date of July 27 -
if I didn't get my UK copy on time, I feared, I'd never be able to
read the book before the baby came.
But it did - and Harry was born a week late anyway (his name is
acutally harrison, but yes, he is named after the books).
In June, 2000, I found this list thanks to an article in the
Washington Post, and my life has never been the same.
My husband and mom have both read the books, and I've been trying for
a YEAR to get my sister to do so, but so far, she's being a ninny.
