My story is not particularly cool, either. I bought PS
for my nephew for Christmas and never bothered to even
open myself. The following spring, however, my boss
recommended them and gave me the first three to read.
I was instantly hooked! I ordered GoF for my nephew
last July and read it before giving it to him. For my
anniversary a couple weeks later, my husband gave me
enough gift certificates to Chapters to by all 4 books
for myself. Now I have all 4 books in the Canadian
editions, the first 2 books in American editions, all
4 in French, the first audiotape by Jim Dale and the
next 2 by Stephen Fry (with many thanks to all who
helped me obtain some of these!). Then, of course,
when JKR did the reading at SkyDome in Toronto I took
my daughter and my nephew out of school for 2 days and
off we went to Toronto!
