Why did we start reading the books?

Well I actually didn't start reading the books until the beginning of
this year, around January. A friend at work had started reading Harry
Potter to her children last summer and told me about how wonderful
they were. I'd heard all of the hoopla over book GoF when it came out
and thought to myself I should check this out. So last November I saw
the whole set for half price in my Doubleday Book club catalogue and
I bought them. They of course sat on my book case for two months. I
wanted to wait until it was closer to the summer when book 5 would
come out before I started to read them, silly me. Obviouly I didn't
wait too long. I breezed through all 4 books in about a week and
became hooked and totally obsessed since then. My friend laughs at me
I'm 100 times worse than her two kids. I've bought the U.K. versions
and have several t-shirts ad collectibles.

Anyway what brought me here was I stumbled onto Fanfiction.net, which
lead me to the Paradigm of Uncertainty list, which led me to this
list and at least 14 others plus creating my own list and writing a
Remus centered fanfic. Who knew a wizard boy living under the
cupboard under the stairs would cause such devotion among kids and
adults. Prety neat isn't it?

Cheers,
      Kristin
