Isn't that a time-honoured Mom-thing where you ask a simple silly
question that is supposed to cause the little ones to snap to
attention, come up with the answer and compete for Mom's attention to
say what it is?  The laugh of course is that the Weasleys - even
little Ginny - are too old to fall for this trick but Mrs. W. is
obviously reluctant to abandon tried and true tactics.

(Haven't you ever seen a young mom desperately trying to distract a
crying baby by pointing out something and saying with forced delight
"Look, what's that?  It's a little doggie, isn't it?  A cute little doggie."?)
