Guess we shouldn't start posts with "I agree", but I'm with Sam on a few
house observations.
I'm one of the readers who thinks Hagrid is of a Hufflepuff bent! And I
still
think Hermoine is a better-suited Ravenclaw, but for plot purposes we
find her in Gryffindor.
While Slytherin has produced the most dark wizards, there must be exemplary
Slyths too. Given the house personalities, these people are risk-takers
--living life on the edge types--those who would be drawn, not necessarily
to evil, but to the thrill of the unknown, then finding themselves drawn in
to the abyss.
And yes, we see things from Harry's perspective and most of the action
has involved Gryffindor and Slytherin, but Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff must
play critical roles in the upcoming books, otherwise, JKR would have created
only the two dominant/competing houses. I think it will take the elements
of all four houses to overcome Voldemort in the final showdown.
Dane, Ravenclaw (because 2 quizzes and the sorting hat put me there)
