All the points brought up on this thread have been
very intriguing. Something that may have been
overlooked is the fact that it would be very rare to
find a student who completly embodies all the traits
of a given house, and none of the traits of the
remaining three. For instance, most Gryffindors are
probably not entirely daring, nerve, and chivalry, and
have no wit, learning, patience, work ethic, cunning,
or ambition.
I think that most students, like Harry, have
personalities that could blend with any number of
houses.
Angela P (who identifies with all 4 houses, and would
probably have to wear the sorting hat for a week
before a decision is reached!)
