Haven't tried to make it, but have had it - on holiday in Poland!
Taste? Well, hmmm, a lot like carrot juice, but with a squashy taste.
Same goes for texture. Come to think of it, it was actually a mix of
pumpkin and apple juices, and also pumpkin and apricot or peach (can't
remember which). No spices. From the taste, I assume they steam it
first (like they do with carrots) and then juice it. To try to edge
back on topic here - I think JKR talks about this because it sounds
'wizardy', not because it's particularly good. She calls it
'refreshing', certainly a word I wouldn't use to describe the stuff.
Quite thick, it is.
