Narcissi comprise daffodils and jonquils.

The flower (Narcissus) is supposed to have been named for the young
man of Greek mythology who fell in love with reflection in a pool of
water and died yearning for himself, after which the gods transformed
into the flower. The mythological youth's behavior is the root of
our term "narcissism" and thus "narcissistic".

Interestingly, the name of the plant besides being intertwined with
the myth is also related to the words "narcotic" and "narcosis",
alluding back to the plant's narcotic properties. "Narke" in Greek
is numbness or torpor.

It makes me wonder if Narcissa also has an affinity for potions....
