	Actually, Snape did look a wee bit scairt ("slightly paler than 
usual") as he left Harry's bedside in GoF ch, 36. And Harry thinks 
Snape's a bit scared of Moody, too. Gof ch. 14. But I agree with you, 
he's no coward.
