My theory: the kind of plumbing that wizards have, they have had it 
since back in Atlantis, or wherever their history starts. From time to 
time, Muggles who have been guests in wizarding homes and thus 
observed wizarding plumbing, try to invent some way to have Muggle 
plumbing that works the same way.
