I went looking about that(borrowed SS from library)
and here is what I found:

}Chapter 6 pages 106-107

}"Gryffindor," said Ron.  Gloom seemed to be settling 
}on him again.  "Mom and Dad were in it, too.  I don't

}know what they'll say if I'm not.  I don't suppose 
}Ravenclaw would be too bad, but imagine if they put 
}me in Slytherin."

}"That's the house Vol-, I mean You-Know-Who was in?"

}"Yeah," said Ron.  He flopped back into his seat, 
}looking depressed.

That's the only thing I could find (still haven't been
able to find my copies so I can check the other books
sorry).  But it seems to me that it's a pretty sure
sign that Tom Riddle(AKA Voldemort) was Slytherin.
