One more link between Dumbledore and Gryffindor, by the way. And I 
know I've mentioned it before, but it's also worth noting that when 
Harry first waves what will become his wand in Olivanders, red and 
gold sparks come out. 

Gringotts goblins also wear uniforms of scarlet and gold, although I 
can't imagine what connection that could be.
