Hogwart's Motto, help!

I am aware of the fact that Hogwart's motto is "Draco
dormiens nunquam titillandus" which means Never Trust
a Sleeping Dragon (or something to that extent.  I've
been racking my brain and rereading all my HP books,
but for the life of me I cannot find where it's
originally stated.  I must be skipping over it's
placement.  Could somebody please point me to where
it's orginally stated, book and chapter.  Thanks soo
much!
