I don't know, but we know that there is the possibility of students 
staying on.  In CoS, Tom Riddle (the dreaded V) wants to stay there 
over the summer, and the only reason he is told he can't is because 
of the Chamber of Secrets crisis.  Therefore there's a precedent.
