I agree. It wasn't until she thought she actually saw him jinxing Harry
that she came to the idea that teacher does not always = right.

There's something else there, too. The hunks, jocks, and beautiful
girls (that have people falling over them) in ordinary circumstances do
not have a magical advantage. While there are probably other girls at
Hogwarts that have boys falling all over them, those girls, at least,
are not "cheating". Even if it's not conscious competition, how do you
compete with someone who's "enhanced".
I think it's similar to the reaction ::ducking:: that many women feel
toward Muggle women who are "enhanced" (ala "like those are real").
Also, as far as Hermione not being the type for jealousy (mentioned in
another post) because she's got her hands full, and she's secure and
all that -- sometimes the raging hormones overpower logic. No offense
to anyone intended, but Hermione is a teen. What seems out of
character one moment may seem perfectly reasonable the next. At least,
that's been my experience.
