This is true, just to clarify: "public" schools in the UK are what we 
USians call "private" schools...and to get even more nitpicky, public 
schools are the upper ecehelon; the system in general would be called 
"boarding schools" as JKR corrects herself to say in one of the 
interviews with Stephen Fry on the Bloomsbury site.
