Snape's Task and Crouch-Moody as Teacher

You beat me to it and you said it better than I could have!  The main 
point is that Dumbledore and Snape obviously had a plan in place.  I 
would imagine they had quite a few discussions during the school year 
as they both knew Voldemort was getting stronger.

This is why I have a hard time believing Snape went back to 
Voldemort.  It appears that Dumbledore never had time to tell Snape 
about the meeting between Harry and the death eaters.  Surely Snape 
would need to know about what had just happened and who was at the 
meeting.  I imagine Voldemort was not a happy man at this time.  It 
would not appear to be a good time for Snape to show up trying to 
convince Voldemort that he is still a loyal follower.

So do I.  Whatever Snape went to do I don't believe he had to *cover 
up*.  He went as Severus Snape.  I like the way Dumbledore said, "You 
know what I must ask you to do."  Dumbledore was apprehensive but 
both he and Snape knew it must be done.  Snape didn't think twice.  
Just turned a little pale but went on his way.  He was 'ready' 
and 'prepared'.
