Lupin's Patronus

I just had a quick thought --
Lupin's Patronus is "formless silver stuff" -- could it perhaps be clouds?
After all, clouds would hide the moon from his view.  While I'm not trying
to make a statement as to the actual effect of clouds on his transformation,
I do think it's possible that he could see clouds as a bit of protection --
visually, if nothing else.
